We took a trip up to see my parents recently, and although I lament the miles between us I can at least be happy they live in a beautiful setting that's fun to visit. We lucked out with temps only topping out in the mid-70s (for the first week of June? Right on!) and it was the perfect day to be outside. So we packed a picnic lunch and hiked down to a lake and back before settling in for sandwiches in the cool breeze.
Camille wanted to lead the way (of course), so we taught her about trail blazes and let her set the pace.
Our effort was rewarded with clear, fresh water amid a setting of summery green foliage. Here I am doing what I love to do - photographing this sweet family of mine.
And is there a better way to wrap up a hiking day than a giant bubble bath? I think not.
